These words ring as true today as they did when written by William Shakespeare in “The Taming of the Shrew” 430 years ago. As attorneys, we have a professional and fiduciary obligation to advocate for our clients to the best of our ability. As professionals, we also have an obligation to discharge that duty while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, civility and courtesy—to the courts, to opposing counsel and their clients and to the legal profession itself.
