The State Bar of California Board of Trustees Chair Brandon Stallings announced that the board is removing from Thursday’s agenda the item regarding cutting ties with the National Conference of Bar Examiners and allowing the State Bar to instead create its own Multistate Bar Examination.

Up for vote was to enter into an agreement of a maximum of $1.475 million annually for five years with Kaplan North America LLC to develop and administer its own bar exam in place of the MBE or the incoming NextGen exam.
