President Donald Trump late Monday fired National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo as well as one of its three board members, Democrat Gwynne Wilcox.

Labor and employment lawyers say Trump was within his legal authority when he ousted Abruzzo, noting that President Joe Biden four years ago had removed GC Peter Robb—the first time a president had removed an NLRB GC since the creation of the agency 90 years ago. Robb challenged his firing, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in August upheld it.
