Barnes & Thornburg, an Indianapolis-based firm that has been growing rapidly this year, will combine with the Parsinen law firm of Minneapolis on July 1 to open a new office in that city.

Barnes & Thornburg will add 22 Minneapolis lawyers through the merger who specialize in business litigation, employment, real estate, corporate, energy and trusts and estates law. The firm was particularly interested in entering Minneapolis to bring its intellectual property practice to the office, said Alan Levin, the firm’s managing partner.
