Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft on Tuesday added a three-partner group from Proskauer Rose, including the former co-chair of Proskauer’s litigation practice. Louis Solomon, Hal Shaftel and Colin Underwood will expand Cadwalader’s complex commercial dispute capabilities. Solomon, who co-chaired Proskauer’s litigation practice until last year, said he will be bringing with him a roster of clients, including PepsiCo, Bristol-Myers Squibb and AriZona Iced Tea.
At Cadwalader, Solomon will become vice-chairman of the litigation department and head of the commercial and international litigation practice group. “It’s our hope that we can add to the securities litigation practice that’s already here,” Solomon said. Solomon’s group joined Proskauer in 2003 as part of a merger with Solomon Zauderer Ellenhorn Frischer & Sharp that brought the firm 21 lawyers, including eight partners.
