Revolving door: Rep. Paul Ryan, expected to become the next speaker of the House, will tap Squire Patton Boggs lobbyist David Hoppe to be his chief of staff, reports the Washington Post. Hoppe spent nearly three decades in Congress before going into the private sector.

The co-chairs of Squire Patton Boggs’ public policy practice, former senators John Breaux and Trent Lott, said in a statement that they “admire Dave Hoppe for answering the call of his country.”
