Irwin Raij is used to negotiating on behalf of sports teams—he’s just not used to owning them.
Raij, a New York-based cochair of Foley & Lardner’s sports industry team, found himself participating in a press conference Thursday at Siren Studios in Los Angeles to announce a new Major League Soccer expansion franchise, whose purchase price was undisclosed, but reportedly the largest-ever paid for a team in the growing league.
