Less than two months after 22 partners broke away from Schiff Hardin to form Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila, their new firm has grown to 41 lawyers in three cities, thanks to a few hires from their former home.

A quartet of Schiff Hardin honchos left the firm in January to become name partners at Riley Safer, including former chairman Robert Riley and former managing partner Ronald Safer, as well as practice heads Patricia Holmes and Joseph Cancila Jr.
