Symetra Financial Corp. has named a new top lawyer following the retirement of its former general counsel.

Jacqueline Veneziani will be the diversified financial services company’s next general counsel, senior vice president and secretary. She formally steps into the role April 1, according to an announcement Thursday. She succeeds David Goldstein, who will retire after more than six years in the GC seat.
