Large companies are spending more on intellectual property litigation according to a report released Thursday.

The Morrison & Foerster Study of IP Legal Decision-Makers surveyed IP counsel from 53 companies with at least $750 million in revenue. Total annual legal spend rose to $3.3 billion for reporting companies, up from $1.7 billion in 2005 and $2.76 billion in 2015, according to the report. Growth rates “have recently slowed, but continue at double-digit rates.”
