Depending on how well prepared an organization is for litigation, working their way through the privilege review process can still be something of a headache for corporate legal departments and their outside counsel. Thursday’s “Privilege Review 2.0: Revamping the Privilege Review Workflow to Work for You” at Legalweek(year) 2021 took a closer look at some of the challenges in-house teams are encountering in the face of an endless supply of documents—as well as some of the solutions they are deploying.

One of the first challenges outlined by the panel may be most obvious. Dawson Horn III, associate general counsel, litigation at AIG, noted that an in-house lawyer charged with managing litigation likely does not want the legal advice they’ve been issuing shared due to a failure to protect privilege.
