On the heels of a $6.5 billion sale of one of its subsidiary health care companies, Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) has named a former adviser to President Barack Obama advisor to serve as its chief legal officer.

WBA named Danielle Gray as its chief legal officer Aug. 27. She will be responsible for overseeing the company’s legal department and set the legal and compliance agenda. It is not clear when she will begin her role, nor is it clear if she will be based in the company’s headquarters in Illinois.
