The demise of startup financing cornerstone Silicon Valley Bank on Friday sent tech corporate executives and legal department chiefs scrambling to find other sources of financing and immediate solutions.

With New York-based Signature Bank becoming the next financial institution to fall, the Federal Reserve moved swiftly over the weekend to stem the fallout. The Fed’s measures, announced late Sunday, underscored the potential for the contagion to spread.
