Google’s long-held dominance in digital advertising is threatened by intensifying legal woes, including a fresh spate of lawsuits that seek to break up its lucrative advertising business.

The Mountain View, California-based company is girding for battle on multiple fronts, as the U.S. Department of Justice, major news publishers and 17 state attorneys general have coalesced around allegations that its stranglehold on the technology behind digital advertising represents an abusive monopoly and allows it to undercut rivals and siphon away advertising dollars from website publishers.
