A federal judge has set a new trial date for two former tech executives accused of bribing government officials in India, after a witness snafu caused the court to miss its chance to have the trial this year.

Judge Kevin McNulty said the trial, scheduled to open this week, will now have to wait until at least mid-February. Prosecutors had asked for a brief postponement because its star witness was stuck in India. On Friday, a federal prosecutor, Sonali Patel, told McNulty that the witness had been cleared by the Indian government to travel and could be in court as early as the middle of next week, but McNulty said it was too late.
