The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ratcheted up its focus on disability discrimination in its just-ended fiscal year, with 48 of the 144 suits it filed during the year falling in that category.

It was a big year for the EEOC overall, with total cases climbing 55% in the 12 months that ended Sept. 30, 2023. That’s a 55% hike from the 94 recorded a year earlier.
