The state became the fourth this year—behind New Jersey, New Hampshire and Kentucky—and the sixteenth U.S. state to pass a data privacy law when Gov. Jim Pillen signed the legislation on Apr. 18. The next state in waiting is Maryland, with its statute passed in both chambers and waiting on the governor’s desk for approval as of press time.
