For three days every year, Christopher Sternberg, the recently promoted senior vice president of corporate communications and general counsel of Papa John’s International, Inc., ties an apron around his waist and takes his place behind the counter of a Papa John’s restaurant in Louisville. He kneads dough, spreads tomato sauce, and tosses on toppings before slipping pies into the oven. (No word on whether or not he spins those crusts in the air before adding the toppings.)

Sternberg admits that making Papa John’s pizza is almost as difficult as his new day job.
