Silver Lake Partners, L.P., and Warburg Pincus LLC teamed up to buy all of Interactive Data Corporation for $3.4 billion in a deal announced May 4. Pearson plc owns 61 percent of IDC, a provider of financial market data, and the rest of IDC is publicly traded. The parties hope to close the deal this fall pending regulatory approvals.
