As the state’s two electric companies continue to face scrutiny from Connecticut’s political leaders over their handling of last week’s storm, Attorney General William Tong Tuesday filed motions demanding the companies be held accountable and face possible fines and penalties.

Now is the time for the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority “to clearly and unequivocally preserve every option to impose the most serious penalties available at the earliest possible time, instead of setting the stage for an endless series of related proceedings taking years to reach conclusion,” the Attorney General’s Office wrote in its motion for reconsideration.
