President Joe Biden on Wednesday announced his nomination of Vanessa Avery to be U.S. attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Avery currently serves as chief of the Division of Enforcement and Public Protection at the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office, managing affirmative enforcement by the office, including multidistrict litigation and investigations involving the opioid epidemic, the Affordable Care Act, federal immigration laws and environmental regulation, along with pending cases in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.
