The Connecticut Bar Association late last week joined the growing opposition to Hartford Superior Court Judge Vanessa L. Bryant’s nomination to Connecticut’s federal court bench. The decision by the CBA’s Federal Judiciary Committee to give Bryant a “not qualified” rating, however, only further inflamed Bryant’s supporters and their outrage over the anonymity that her detractors have so far been allowed to keep.
The CBA committee based its conclusion on a finding that “Judge Bryant does not possess the requisite judicial temperament,” according to a statement it released May 18.
