From tending to her ailing father to serving clients, Miami lawyer Lian de la Riva has turned her challenges into a positive.

When de la Riva first started law school, she found out her father was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Six months after his diagnosis, de la Riva’s father died. That tragedy led her to focus her practice on estate planning, probate and guardianship law.
