After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed to a nearly $20 million class action settlement, opposing counsel moved for a seven-figure attorney fees award in a federal court in Tampa—a move that an outside expert praised.

Javier A. Lopez, a Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton partner in Coral Gables, said the Cin-Q Automobiles Inc. and Medical & Chiropractic Clinic Inc. fees and cost motion against the Buccaneers Ltd. Partnership over a violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 would face little scrutiny from U.S. District Court Anthony E. Porcelli.
