In a post-pandemic world, the rule of law is universally losing ground. This represents a threat to the corporate realm, which struggles daily to make ethics and compliance a priority.

Insights from the 2022 World Justice Project (WJP) Rule of Law Index show that, in 61% of the world’s countries (which totals 4.4 billion people), adherence to rule of law has declined during the past year. This means that the world is less equitable, institutions are more fragile, trust in authorities has eroded, levels of transparency have dropped, checks and balances have weakened, civil justice has deteriorated, and human rights have been affected.
