The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit rejected a challenge by Fort Lauderdale Food Not Bombs to reverse a 40% across-the-board reduction of nearly $1 million in attorney fees, in a cautionary tale for lawyers requesting attorney fees in the booming South Florida market.

Plaintiffs-appellants Food Not Bombs challenged the reduction of their requested fees, challenging both the reduction in their requested hourly rates and the reduction in their requested number of hours reasonably expended in the case in which the district court said “they achieved excellent results” against defendant-appellee the City of Fort Lauderdale.
