After three unopposed elections, a challenger has stepped up seeking to unseat a staple in the Flint Judicial Circuit comprised of the Henry County court system.

Jonesboro attorney Loletha Hale is campaigning against incumbent circuit Chief Judge Brian Amero in the May 24 nonpartisan primary election. Amero qualified on March 7 for what would have been another unopposed judicial race, until Hale qualified four days later.
