In Georgia’s Southern Judicial Circuit, three attorneys are campaigning to fill a vacancy created by the impending retirement of Judge James Hardy at the end of the year.

Catherine Mims Smith of the Southern Circuit District Attorney’s Office, Valdosta attorney William Whitesell and Thomasville lawyer Robert Moore Jr. are in the running for the soon-to-be vacated superior court seat. The circuit includes Brooks, Colquitt, Echols, Lowndes and Thomas counties.
