I represent Martin Chitwood in the pending divorce about which the Daily Report ran articles online Sept. 1 and Sept. 2. I am truly shocked with the inaccurate, misleading, and single-sided reporting in the articles. The articles are nothing short of character assassination of Mr. Chitwood, and I must request on his behalf that you publish this letter so that your readers can understand the complete story. As we have alleged in our filings in this case, the claims of abuse by Martin’s wife are fraudulent.

After a thorough review of the record, both in California and in Georgia, it is clear that Carol Chitwood attempted to utilize her false claims of alleged violence as the sole basis to set aside a prenuptial agreement she negotiated freely and voluntarily, with the assistance of independent counsel.
