India’s legal market has taken a major step towards liberalisation through the country’s enhanced trade partnership with the U.K. this week, senior lawyers believe.

The deal, agreed between U.K. prime minister Boris Johnson and India prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, paves the way for more exports and investment between the two nations and commits to “remove barriers in the Indian legal services sector preventing U.K. lawyers from practising international and foreign law in India”.
