When Steven De Backer, CEO of Afriwise, moved back to Africa after years working in Belgium, he found a legal market with inaccessible—and sometimes incoherent—legal frameworks and too few solutions that focused on solving these problems.
In 2018, De Backer launched Afriwise to help companies find and comply with African laws and regulations. Now, the legal tech company operates in 25 countries and collaborates with over 130 law firms.
