The European Court of Justice has ruled in favour of the European Superleague in its battle against football ruling bodies FIFA and UEFA about the attempted formation of a breakaway league by Europe’s top clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The formation of the superleague was initially announced in 2021, and included heavyweight European clubs AC Milan, Arsenal, Atlético de Madrid, Chelsea, Internazionale Milano, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Shortly after, all six of the U.K. clubs announced their withdrawals from the league.
