SAN FRANCISCO — For the first time in more than two years, the number of nominations for the Northern District of California bench matches its vacancy count.
President Obama nominated Santa Clara County Judge Edward Davila on Thursday. A recommendation of Sen. Barbara Boxer, Davila would succeed U.S. District Judge Marilyn Hall Patel, who took senior status last year.
