Sidley has named Sharon Flanagan the managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office. Flanagan, a 39-year-old corporate partner, succeeds Paul Pringle, who served in the position since 1993. She has been the office’s hiring partner since 2004. Flanagan’s practice includes mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and corporate governance matters, including cross-border transactions involving companies in Asia and Europe. She graduated from Harvard Law School in 1996.

James Alexander has joined Keesal, Young & Logan as an associate. Alexander, who was previously a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Marilyn Hall Patel, focuses on securities and employment litigation. He graduated from Stanford Law School in 2008.
