SAN FRANCISCO Stephen Korniczky, a former global IP group chairman at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, has joined the San Diego office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton as a partner. He will co-chair Sheppard’s 70-lawyer IP practice group with partners Daniel Yannuzzi and Carlo Van den Bosch, the firm announced today.
Korniczky, who’s been with Paul, Hastings since 2003, said Sheppard’s recent lateral growth, its full-service IP practice complemented by an international antitrust practice group, and more flexible alternative billing structure were a compelling draw. He’s also practiced with a number of Sheppard’s San Diego partners in the past, including Yannuzzi.
