SAN FRANCISCO — Sidestepping objections from a splinter group of trial court judges, the Judicial Council declined to stand in the way of 3.5 percent pay increases for rank-and-file AOC employees today.

Earlier this year, a Judicial Council oversight committee led by Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye was instructed to study the issue and come back with a recommendation.
