SACRAMENTO — Legislation that would decentralize judicial branch control has deeply divided state judges, according to the results of a California Judges Association survey released today.

Forty-eight percent of survey respondents said they support Assembly Bill 1208 compared to 45 percent who said they oppose it, according to the CJA. The voluntary survey was completed by 877 CJA members, or about one-third of the active and retired judges and subordinate judicial officers who belong to the organization.
