Attorneys aren’t precluded from fee awards in civil rights cases where they represent their spouses, the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled on Friday.
In Rickley v. County of Los Angeles, a Los Angeles federal judge had denied Malibu attorney Natasha Roit’s request for $125,000 in fees after she won a retaliation case against the county on behalf of her spouse, Rebecca Rickley.
