SACRAMENTO — A biotech billionaire is poised to provide $20 million in aid to the judiciary’s beleaguered Court Case Management System, judicial leaders announced late Thursday.
The Judicial Council on Friday will consider signing a letter of intent with Los Angeles pharmaceutical baron Patrick Soon-Shiong to draft a final agreement over the next three months. Cash, facilities access and other services offered by Soon-Shiong would help the branch deploy portions of its new case management systems to three courts — San Luis Obispo, Ventura and Fresno — starting in 2012.
