SAN FRANCISCO Two weeks after hackers stole more than 6 million user passwords on LinkedIn and posted them online, an Illinois woman has filed a $5 million suit claiming that the social network for professionals failed to protect its members’ information.
Attorneys from Cooley in San Francisco are defending the Mountain View company in the proposed class action filed late last week in the Northern District. A LinkedIn spokesman did not respond to requests for additional information, and attorneys from Cooley declined to comment.
