The day after the PowerPoint presentation where the Ecuadorian plaintiffs laid out their plan to coordinate with the court-appointed expert, one of plaintiffs’ consultants suggests that it was “bizarre” that the meeting included “perito,” which means “[the] expert.” Steven Donziger, who served as the lead U.S. lawyer for the plaintiffs, tells the cameraman that the conversation is off the record. He remarks that he controls the film, then says that he is joking. Plaintiffs stress that the majority of the meeting pertained to oil contamination.
