When last we at Corporate Counsel reported before the holidays on WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange, the web site was (and still is) leaking U.S diplomatic messages. The Justice Department was (and still is) continuing its criminal investigation into the leaks, while free speech advocates insist that WikiLeaks and Assange are protected from prosecution by the First Amendment.

Assange was (and still is) fighting extradition to Sweden, where he has been accused of sexual misconduct by two women. Assange claims he is innocent and that the case is a political smear campaign by those who oppose his releasing the sensitive documents.
