A week after news of impending layoffs at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman broke when corporate and securities head Robert Robbins was overheard having a cell phone conversation on an Acela train, the legal gossip blog Above the Law is reporting the firm has sent a memo announcing a voluntary departure plan.

The memo, which appears on Above the Law, says associates, senior associates and counsel may choose to leave the firm and accept a severance package of, “among other things,” three months’ salary.
