ALBANY – Michael G. Cherkasky, who assumed the chairmanship of the state Commission on Public Integrity in the wake of controversy surrounding its investigation of the “Troopergate” scandal, will leave the unpaid post at the end of this year, he announced last week.
Mr. Cherkasky, a former Manhattan prosecutor, was appointed by Governor David A. Paterson as chairman in May 2009.
