A man who allegedly suffered a traumatic brain injury when hundreds of pounds of drywall fell on him while he was grouting tile has settled for $5.75 million with the subcontractor whose employee allegedly dropped the drywall.
In February 2008, according to the plaintiffs’ pretrial memorandum, Leo McLaverty, then 45, was kneeling and grouting tile on the 51st floor of the Comcast Center in Center City, Philadelphia, when defendant Robert Johnson, an employee of defendant subcontractor Wyatt Inc., pushed a drywall cart carrying between 500 and 700 pounds of drywall behind McLaverty.
