The average civil jury verdict in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court last year decreased roughly 31 percent, from $1.49 million in 2010 to $1.02 million in 2011, according to the First Judicial District’s civil trial division statistics.

However, when the outlier award of $88.7 million awarded for an airplane crash case in 2010 is taken out, the average jury verdict increased by a tiny amount in 2011.
