The virtual library has come and gone, the app library has arrived. No matter what kind of tablet computer you use, you need to access key applications. As firms begin to supply tablets to their legal professionals, personnel are becoming more aggressive about what research tools they expect to access via electronic formats. Even if you work in a legal organization that does not supply tablets, you may still need to push e-content. It’s crucial to have necessary legal information and resources available wherever the firm’s legal personnel work — that is, in just about any country and in multiple time zones.

Some 40-plus years ago, the first online databases of Westlaw and LexisNexis launched to a skeptical reception. Now we can’t imagine life without online databases, because we could and did give up our print reporters with little outrage.
