Effective today, Houston-based Fulbright & Jaworski and U.K.-based Norton Rose are Norton Rose Fulbright with about 3,800 lawyers and offices in more than 50 cities worldwide. The firms announced the agreement to combine in November.

The combination gives Norton Rose 750 lawyers in 11 offices in the United States including Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. It gives Fulbright an expanded footprint internationally. The new mega-firm is structured as a Swiss verein, a corporate holding structure wherein the firms share activities such as strategy and branding but maintain financial independence.
