On Thursday, LexisNexis announced a new generative AI platform called Lexis+ AI, a chatbot tool that leverages a number of large language models (LLMs) to provide conversational search of LexisNexis databases, and allows users to automate the drafting and summarizing of legal documents.

During a virtual press event announcing the new offering, Jeff Pfeifer, chief product officer for LexisNexis North America and UK, noted that Lexis+ is still in development, and being tested by a number of law firms and in-house counsel, whose feedback will dictate when the offering will be publicly released. However, he added, “We feel confident we’re looking at wider commercial availability later this summer.”
