There was a time when David Simon was part of the United States’ first line of defense against cyberattacks.

That was less than four years ago, when Simon, now Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom’s new co-head of the firm’s global cybersecurity and data privacy practice, served as chief cyber counsel to the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, a bipartisan commission established by Congress to develop a strategy to defend the U.S. from cyberattacks.
